THE LAWYER AND THE HORSE
A man was charged with stealing a horse, and after a long trial the jury acquitted him. Later in the day the man came back to see the judge.
“Judge,” he said, “I want you to arrest that dirty lawyer of mine. He is___________________.”
“What’s the matter?” asked the judge. “He won your case, didn’t he? What do you want your lawyer arrested for?”
“Well, it’s this way, Sir,” answered the man. “You see, I didn’t have the money to pay him, so he went and took the horse I stole.”
