Abstract





Figures ofhorror inthe South Slavic expressionist poetry


The text examines the appearance and function ofhorror figures inrepresentative texts inthe south Slavic expressionist discourse, within the poetry appearances ofMiroslav Krleza (Pjesme I, II and III), Milo? Crnjanski (Lyrics ofIthaca Vidovdanske Pesme) and Geo Milev (Hell, September, and The Cruel Ring). Byinterpretations ofthe current period philosophical and psychological views, bythe vision ofSartres Existentialism and mostly bythe social-psychological theory ofthe Symbolic Interactionism ofGeorge Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer, this is viewed bythe situational symbolism ofthe socio-cultural model the creation, interpretative assumptions and constructed meanings inthe texts ofthe characteristic figures and metaphors ofhorror. The monitoring is mainly inthe communication context, and as amanifestation ofthe specific expression ofAvant-garde art as astate ofmind, atypology ofthinking and way ofaesthetic assimilation ofthe world. The sign relations ofthe lexical items are tracked bythe three consciousnesses formulated byRoland Barthes (symbolic, paradigmatic and syntagmatic) and is summarized interms ofits regional literal representation, as well as inaEuropean cultural context. Attention is drawn tothe relations and the duality offorms metaphoricaldual process, as well as inthe syntax (characterizing the express) proportions, which appear tobe representative ofthe overall poetics ofExpressionism.
